Jenny G. Dorman Attorney

Biography

Jenny was raised in Pella, Iowa, graduating from Pella Community High School in 2008. Although she actively participated in a variety of different activities growing up, by far and away, she was most enthusiastic about her involvement in Mock Trial and Women’s Basketball. During her senior year, she served as a captain to both teams, helping lead both programs to their respective state competitions and receiving all-state recognition at both. She remains the all-time leading scorer in Pella Lady Dutch history.

Jenny’s passion for basketball lead her to Truman State University, where she received a full-tuition athletic scholarship, Jenny was a four-year letter winner and four-year member of the MIAA scholar-athlete honor roll. Jenny graduated with a degree in history and minor in sociology. She also actively participated in the Truman State Historical Society, Delta Omicron Lambda service sorority and founded the Truman State charter for Students Against Sweatshops. In addition, she volunteered for the Special Olympics, YMCA, and PACT, a local non-profit that taught adult’s living with intellectual disabilities how to perform everyday tasks.

Jenny has always had a passion for the law, you might say it was in her blood, as her mother, father, older sister and brother-in-law are all attorneys, so her ties run deep in the legal profession. Growing up in Pella, she participated in 7 years of mock trial and continued to volunteer as a mock-trial judge throughout college and law school. Jenny graduated from Drake Law School in May 2017. While attending Drake Law School, Jenny participated in Drake Law’s Legislative Practice Program, working as a legal intern in the House of Representatives in the 2016 session, and legal intern for the Senate Majority Caucus staff in the 2017 session. Jenny was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.
